Philipp Weishaupt will not go to London
After several leading top riders such as Marco Kutscher with Cornet Obolensky, Carsten Otto-Nagel with Corradina and Ludger Beerbaum with Gotha, Philipp Weishaupt, also one of the leading riders, has announced he would not be competing in the London Olympics. His horse Monte Bellini contracted an infection which led to a fever.

Otto Becker, Chef d'Equipe to the German Federation, explained : “With Philipp Weishaupt and Monte Bellini out, we have to give up another top pair. I am very sorry for Philipp, he and the stallion presented themselves really well over the whole season and Philipp was so happy about his first Olympic Games”.
Philipp, who is only 26 years old, had just pulled off a brilliant victory in the seventh leg of the Global Champions Tour in Estoril (Portugal) three weeks ago, on another horse, Leoville, beating his « boss » Ludger Beerbaum.
Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and Bella Donna will now join the German team, and Thomas Voss with Carinjo become the new reserves.
